A New Construction Project Completed to Meet Tenant Needs

Wal-Mart Warehouse and Distribution Center
On April 19, 2000, Fulton County celebrated the Grand Opening of the new 868,000 sq. ft. Wal*Mart Distribution Center, which comprises 474,000 sq. ft. dry goods storage, 366,000 sq. ft. refrigeration and freezer storage, and 28,000 sq. ft. office space. In 1995 Wal-Mart chose Fulton County and the Johnstown Industrial Park as the site of its Regional Return Center. The success of that project encouraged Wal-Mart to choose Fulton County once again-this time for its 900,000 square foot Northeast Regional Food Distribution Center. On April 19, 2000 Fulton County celebrated the Grand Opening of the facility which includes dry goods storage, freezer storage, refrigeration and office space. Wal-Mart ships grocery products to Supercenters and Sam’s Clubs in the Northeast Region from this location. The capital investment in Fulton County exceeded $70 million dollars and Wal-Mart employs nearly 900.

Renovations

Johnstown Professional Office Complex
Adaptive Reuse
The Johnstown Hotel has been a significant landmark in the city of Johnstown since the “Roaring Twenties”. The building fell into disrepair in the early 1990’s and was headed toward demolition. However, in 2000, Crossroads Incubator Corporation purchased the facility and began an almost two year renovation. This $3 million rehabilitation transformed the old hotel into a “new” state-of-the-art, fully “intelligent,” multi-tenant office facility, located in the heart of the downtown district of Johnstown. This project illustrates the adaptability of older, existing facilities being restored to meet the business demands of the 21st century.

Uncommon living in downtown Gloversville!
In the early 1900's, on seven acres of land in downtown Gloversville, a school was built. In 1997 the school closed its doors. In 2003, CIC began to consider possible uses for the former school and determined that creating upscale apartments in the facility was the way to go. 39 luxury apartments opened in 2007.
Because of the success of Phase I, CIC has plans to develop Phase II which will create 12 condominiums and 14 additional apartments.

Empie Estates— A Construction Plan for the Near Future!

Empie Estates is a residential development project of the Crossroads Incubator Corporation in the south end of the City of Johnstown.  This project is the first of its kind in the community and, when finished, will include 30 one and two bedroom condos and 20 residential building lots. Located on 27.5 acres, the development project is bordered by Genesee, Franklin and Union Streets. CIC expects to see work begin in 2009.
