Building Dedicated in Fulton County Business Park

Gloversville, NY—The Fulton County Economic Development Corporation and its real estate subsidiary, the Crossroads Incubator Corporation, recently hosted an open house and building dedication at the site of their newest $1.5 million professional office building in the Crossroads Business Park in Gloversville.  The event was held in conjunction with the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The 11,400 square foot class ‘A’ office building was dedicated to local real estate icon Arlene M. Sitterly, the founder of Coldwell Banker Arlene M. Sitterly Inc. real estate agency in Johnstown and a founding member of all of the county’s economic development agencies including the EDC.  A black granite plaque with her image engraved on it was unveiled at the ceremony which was attended by 200 people; the dedication was a surprise for Sitterly.

According to EDC Executive Vice President Jeff Bray, the idea to honor Sitterly was suggested by CIC Executive Vice President Peter Sciocchetti.  “Peter wanted to recognize the role Arlene played in our economic development,” Bray said.  “She’s been so instrumentally involved in what we’ve done, particularly in the early years, said Bray.

Sitterly founded her real estate business in 1956, she co-founded the Fulton County Industrial Development Agency in 1976 and served as chairwoman for more than a decade. She is still an active member of the board.  Bray was recruited by Sitterly in the early 90’s for the job he currently holds with the EDC.  Sitterly was also a member and past officer of the EDC board an agency she helped to establish in 1986.

The new office building is 100% occupied and tenants include Dr. Jeffrey Gardner and Crossroads Pediatrics; Dr. Brad Dunlap, Chiropractor; O2 Solutions Medical and Surgical Supplies and Wachovia Securities.

During the ceremony, EDC and CIC also unveiled plans for a new 10,000 square foot office building that will be built in 2007 on Kathy’s Way in the Business Park to meet the increased demand for Class ‘A’ space in the area.  The new building will have an Adirondack Style exterior.
